What Have You Been Called to Do? Dare to be Different

Do we really have freedom in our lives? Do we have a choice? What does it mean to be in control of our destiny? What distinguishes the life of winners from the life of losers? You are the master of your fate; you are the captain of your soul. How often do we use and benefit from this pearl of wisdom in our lives? Become the creator of your life and  fulfill your inner calling.

Society has always tried to manipulate people by imposing a set of rules and regulations to follow. There is nothing wrong with the order but very often too many limitations impair our ability to think independently, as they now say “outside of the box”. Listen to your parents, be a good, obedient child, be a good student, study hard at school, always behave in a right way (who defines the notions of good and bad, right or wrong – has always been a mystery to me), study hard, go to college, get a degree, find a job, be a responsible employee, get married, give birth to kids.. and the eternal circle continues… All this time following the rules and obligations, trying to fit socially accepted frames, repeating the same life scenario, over and over, and over again. We are playing the roles of copycats, repeating the same destiny, which is basically going with the flow. Are we wooden dolls, puppets, trying to act alive but being totally devoted to fulfilling the external expectations of others, to being clean, neat, proper, tidy and saying and doing all the right things? Who pulls the strings?

I am not encouraging you for rebellious and revolutionary behavior. I am trying to get you connected to your inner calling and  your soul desires. There is nothing wrong with getting education or having kids. The question is, do we really have the passion, the colors, the excitement, the juice in our lives? We do not pay attention to our creativity (we all have it); we have too many tasks and obligations, and we perform them automatically. We are too busy to ask what the purpose is of our life. We were brought to this world to be co-creators. But we are afraid to create anything new because we are afraid of being judged. We are scared to follow the call of our heart, our passion. We evaluate the world with our rational minds, which were shaped by socially approved beliefs, which are often limiting and misleading. We lose our individuality, by desperately trying to fit social acceptance. We become the mere faces of the grey crowd, because we are afraid to be different. We feel fine in our comfort zone, nevertheless it stinks, but we are used to the smell so we don’t pay enough attention to it in order to change it. How different are we from the flock of sheep? Do we have a higher level of consciousness? Do we even realize that everyone is individuality?

Why is it destructive to follow the rules? Why successful people break the conventional rules and set their own? They do not adjust to the world they live in, they do not obey the demands of society. They are the creators, they are the achievers, and they change the world. They write their own stories, not following the blind masses. The good news is that we are all people, coming from the same source. We are all capable of greatness. We all have unlimited potential. The difference is that achievers are able to say “no”, they are not afraid to be different, they don’t care about being judged, and they do what they want to do, getting the best out of life.

“I want us all to fulfill our greatest potential. To find our calling, and summon the courage to live it.”~ Oprah Winfrey

Search for your call, continue with your quest and you will find it. Connect with your inner self, your inner spark. Your spirit is the spirit of the universe. And if you allow yourself to be in connection, you are the entire universe. You are perfect already. Stop being a puppet, a wooden doll. Nobody else can have control over your life, unless you let them. Be yourself, everybody else is taken!
